Operating System Requirements

DS Visualizer ActiveX Control is supported on Windows®.

Supported Windows Operating Systems

• Windows 2000 Professional SP4
• Windows XP Professional SP2

Administrator privileges are required for installation.

Minimum Hardware Requirements

• 32-bit Intel® Pentium® 4 or compatible processor running at 2 GHz or greater
• 512 MB RAM
• Graphics card: NVIDIA® Quadro FX or ATI FireGL cards (see note a )
• Disk space: 40 MB

Notes

1. DS Visualizer ActiveX Control is optimized to provide hardware-accelerated graphics with supported NVIDIA and ATI hardware when certified drivers are installed. 3D stereo support is also available with hardware that provides quad-buffered OpenGL stereo capabilities. Further details on Accelrys-certified graphics drivers can be obtained from http://www.nvidia.com and http://www.ati.com.

2. Currently, DS Visualizer ActiveX Control is designed for use on 32-bit operating systems only. It does not support the x64 Edition of Windows XP Professional.

(a) Activation of hardware stereo can be intermittent with this platform, card, and driver combination. This is a known issue with all OpenGL® applications. If you anticipate extensive use of stereo graphics, we do not currently recommend this combination.
