CNX Technical Requirements

System Requirements

  • Linux: Red Hat Enterprise Linux WS 2.1 and WS 3.0 on Intel Pentium III and higher
    (32-bit support only)
  • SGI: IRIX 6.5.18-6.5.24 on R10000 and higher
  • IBM: AIX 5.1 on PowerPC

Complementary Software

X-BUILD (a module within the QUANTA environment)

  • X-BUILD allows you to build the missing regions of your structure after initial refinement (e.g., of a molecular replacement solution) with CNX. It has fully automated tools to refine all residues in your structure, along with interactive tools to build difficult regions of the structure one residue at a time.
  • This module also contains functionality previously found in X-LIGAND that allows you to fit ligand molecules into the protein active site, using exhaustive torsion-angle searches.

X-AUTOFIT (a module within the QUANTA environment)

  • X-AUTOFIT contains functionality previously found in X-POWERFIT that allows you to automatically trace de novo electron density maps (for example, from a MAD experiment) in seconds to arrive at a Ca trace of your structure.
  • This module allows you to assign sequences to your Ca trace in a fully automated manner.
  • The structure generated with X-AUTOFIT can be refined using CNX using the CNX interface available in QUANTA.
