Enterprise Services (SOA)

The complex demands of daily research often requires organizations to handle large volumes of unstructured data in real time, while relying on diverse software applications that have been created by in-house, commercial, and academic developers. By turning to a service oriented architecture (SOA), organizations can more readily integrate applications based on commonly accepted, standards such as SOAP web services and http/xml. Accelrys' SciTegic platform is the ideal core for an SOA infrastructure. The Professional Client interface to the platform, as well as its associated component collections, allow for rapid development of web services for data retrieval, scientific computation, data integration (ETL), and reporting, while also providing facilities for scheduling, parallelization, batching, and web service orchestration. The Client is connected to a SciTegic server, which can be either Windows or Linux. For organizations with existing SOA infrastructures, the SciTegic platform can act as a web services within that larger environment, integrating with standard application servers, such as Apache/Tomcat, JBOSS, Web sphere, or Web logic.
