Accelrys Talks

Using Scientific Business Intelligence to Drive Decisions
Frank Brown, Accelrys CSO – April 30, 3:30 PM, Track 1
Information and not data alone can help drive processes and make informed decisions. The use of scientific business intelligence solutions can be instrumental in this process. By integrating these solutions as part of your discovery and scientific operating & intelligence processes, you’ll efficiently capture, model & simulate, visualize, analyze, format, aggregate, normalize, mine, and store data and produce customized reports. This talk will discuss ways to maximize your probability of success, decision making and productivity by applying such solutions and improved data models. Practical case studies will be illustrated along with ample examples, including image and lab data integration.

Automated Systems Biology BioInformatics
Nancy Miller Latimer, Accelrys Product Manager – April 29, 2:14 PM, Track 2
“Data Pipelining” is a flexible analysis process for integrating multiple data sources and third party applications in drug discovery research. Pipeline Pilot is an application for “Data Pipelining” and is now free to academics. Pipelining can be used to integrate imaging, gene expression analysis, sequence analysis, plate analytics, text analysis, modeling, statistics, chemistry, and reporting and dashboarding in real life applications. This session will demonstrate how data pipelining can be used to analyze a gene expression experiment for cell lines treated with two androgen receptor agonists at two time points. The session will also demonstrate how to mine the literature analysis for differentially expressed genes and how protocols can be published for enterprise-wide solutions via web ports.
